STUDIO CONCERTS :: Second Summer Sundays in Snohomish :: 2004
|
JAMI SIEBER [Click image to play Quicktime movie] |
|
IT WAS DARK OUTSIDE BY THE TIME DINNER WAS SERVED AROUND 7:30
but no one seemed to mind returning to their chairs with full plates
of Karen's lasagna. Another full house of guests happily used their
laps for a table, enjoying as well, the lingering vibrations of
Jami’s touching concert. She played several pieces from her new
CD, Hidden Sky and told us the story of finding her "elephant
self" -- which inspired her new work for the electric cello and
voice. Jami's closing piece of music, set to the poem The Tree
of Love written by her long time collaborator, Charlie Murphy,
left us all standing, hooting and hollering; while outside in the
garden, darkness settled in for the night.
Mark the Second Sundays now on your 2005 calendars for June, July and August and join us then for three more summer evenings of music, wine and food.
